Te Kura o Tawatawa - Ridgway School is located just 10 minutes from Wellington's CBD and has brand new buildings and grounds that support both learning and play. The school has approximately 230 children and enjoys strong support from our community.
We need two kaiako who are able to bring their sense of humour and enthusiasm for learning to ākonga in our Ruru La Chouette class. We would consider employing part time kaiako and are open to job share applications.
Ruru La Chouette French-English bilingual class
Ruru La Chouette caters for up to 45 French speaking tamariki who range in age from 5 - 12 years of age. Kaiako teach the New Zealand curriculum in both French and English.
Both tamariki and kaiako work closely with their English mainstream peers and colleagues for part of the week while doing approximately 60% of their learning in French.
We are seeking fluent French speaking kaiako to join this high performing team, but will provide support to the right candidate to develop their language skills if this is necessary. Applicants must hold a New Zealand teacher registration.
Kaiako working in Ruru La Chouette are well supported by FRENZ and the French Embassy who provide annual events that bring French speaking kaiako together from across the country to share experiences, resources and build connections within this community.
