Pre-loved clothing sale!

We have been given lots of top quality clothing so far, but are still greedily after more.  In particular, we don’t have much men’s stuff. If your man friend has some items that no longer fit him (onset of middle aged spread perhaps?) or a shirt that reminds you of something your dad wore in the 80s and not in a cool way, now’s the time to get rid of it in the name of fundraising for the school. Surely he can’t argue with that?  Please make sure the stuff you’re donating is good quality though, those rips and stains are not very appealing!

We also would love your baked goods to come in for the bake sale.  Your child can bring baked treats next Friday and take them to the office. If you can remember to label them with ingredients, that would be great.

Also, we are opening the sale with kapa haka so if you have children keen to perform, they can come about 11.45 we can get them in their kapa haka uniforms and ready to perform.

Online Assemblies?

After COVID restrictions went away, we stopped hosting our assemblies online. It was tricky without the right technology to do a good job of live streaming. However, we will have another crack if this is something that the community would like to see. We understand it’s hard to leave work during the day, so send Sarah an email if you’d like to see this continue and we will get it back up and running.

International Languages Week(s) 10th - 21st June

We are taking part in International Languages Week this year and will celebrate the different languages from around the world that are spoken at our kura. This will start on 10 June and run for two weeks (but ‘International Languages Fortnight’ sounded weird). During this time, students will have the opportunity to teach and learn different languages from around the world. We would love to invite any members of our community who speak a different language to come in and teach some words and phrases. Please email juliel@ridgway.school.nz if you’d like to be a part of this. Our Year 7 & 8s are already learning Spanish and Japanese this term, German and Mandarin next term and French in Term 4 so this will add to all their current language learning.

Music Bus tomorrow

They are coming in tomorrow despite school being closed for a Teacher Only Day. If your child goes to this they would have emailed you a time to bring them to the bus and if they are at the Enjoy holiday programme at school, they will be collected for that.
