Welcome to the last newsletter for the year! What a year it's been for us at Ridgway. We hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have, but no doubt you are also ready for a break! Just a few notices for your information here and we wish you and your families a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing break over Christmas.

Last Day of School

We know there have been questions around our last day of school. Here is a link to Kathryn's last blog post Principal's blog for the year which is about managing teacher workload and our clean up day on Monday 17 December. Well worth a read!

Security at School

If you are at school at the weekend or after hours and you see people under the white wrap or on the scaffolding, please call the police. We have had incidences of people being where they shouldn't be on the building site. Please remember that once the holidays start our school is a building site, with vehicles moving in and around the school. Your children will need to be supervised if they are on the school grounds.

Mandarin Language Assistant - Homestay help

We have had our Mandarin teacher confirmed for next year. Her name is Lili Song and she is from Huia'an in China. We are hoping to find a host family for her as her previous arrangements have fallen through. This year the average cost of home stay accommodation (full room and board, with 3 meals provided) was between $150 - $250 per week, depending on the location. Please get in touch with sarah@ridgway.school.nz if you are able to help.

Lost Property

Please remember to check the lost property by the end of the week. Anything left over will be donated to charity!

Our Language and Culture Strategy - 2018 to 2021

This is now on the website and can be read by following this link.

Stationery Lists and Supply Options

Follow this link to view the 2019 Stationery Lists and purchase options. We know our parents like variety and choice so we have options that benefit families and the school; Officemax, Warehouse Stationery and Eeny Meeny.
