Structure for Next Year

This year we are saying haere ra to Sophie Weren, Caerwyn Morgan and Tina Sturland. We are delighted to welcome three new teachers; Anna Kensell, Harriette Cowan and Nicolas Delaire (in our French bilingual class). Sue Campbell has decided to step down from her Deputy Principal role but will remain a teacher in the school.

Here is a link to the Principal's Blog with information about how we are structuring the school in 2019.

Our Rebuild

On Tuesday evening 27 Nov. Kathryn is talking to parents about our rebuild and our aspirations for how we will work in our new buildings. This is also an opportunity to meet with the architects, ask questions about the building programme and learn more about the timeline. The Year 0 - 3 meeting is from 5.30 - 6.30 and Year 4 - 8 is 6.30 - 7.30, both in te Wharenui.

There is a third opportunity on Wednesday 28 Nov. between 5.30 - 6.30pm. This meeting will cover the same information as the Tuesday meetings but will emphasise how we are seeking to cater for our Māori learners. Anyone can attend this meeting.

Wheelathon - Friday 30 November

Sponsor sheets should have come home, there are more at the office if you have not received one for your child to collect sponsors. Children choose how many times they think they can wheel around the track in an hour and then they challenge themselves to reach this goal. There will be music, ice creams (at lunchtime - $2 one scoop, $3 double scoop), spot prizes and fun competitions such as best dressed, best decorated bike etc. All welcome to come and join us! The different whānau groups will be split across the day so it's not too manic down on the bike track at any one time.

Kōtare: 9am - 10am

Tui: 10am - 11am

Kūkupa: Ms Jessep and Mr Anscombe 11.30am - 12.30pm

Kūkupa and Kākā: Mrs Hainsworth and Ms Clarke 1.30pm - 2.30pm

PB4L Reward - Water Fight Postponed until Monday 3 Dec

While it seems strange to postpone a water fight due to rain, we are postponing this due to rain! We are going to have it next Monday instead.

Junior and Senior Final Assemblies

This year we are separating our junior and senior final assemblies. They are at the start of the day (juniors) and at the end of the day (seniors) in order to fit in with drop off and pick up times. One reason for doing this is that the space isn't big enough to fit our whole school plus all the families that want to come. If we separate them then there is room for everyone to attend. The junior final assembly is at 9.15 and the senior final assembly is at 2.15, both on 14 December.

Parent Helper Afternoon Tea

We are very grateful to our wonderful Ridgway whānau who come in and help us to make our school the great place it is. We would like to invite all our parents who have helped out to come to a special thank you afternoon tea on Wednesday 5 December at 2.30 in Te Wharenui.
