Kūkupa & Kākā Information Evening - Monday 20 Nov - 6-7pm
Parents of children in Kūkupa (Y4-6) and Kākā (Y7&8) in 2018 are encouraged to attend an information evening with teachers next week to find out more about camps and BYOD. Please meet in the Big Space.
As our whānau teams work collaboratively, children invariably find that they are taught by all of the teachers in their whānau at some point in the week. They may also find that they don't always do all of their work in the same learning space. For this reason, we group children in "homegroups" rather than "classes".
In 2018 your child will have a homegroup teacher who will be your first point of call if you have any questions or need to pass on information. We work hard to place children in a homegroup with some friends who they can work well with. Children have been given an opportunity to name some of these friends. When teachers put homegroups together they will consider the learning needs of all children, the positive relationships that already exist between children and any information that parents provide via our Placement Information form. Please note that while teachers will consider all information provided by parents and students, we do not guarantee that we can meet any requests that are made, and will make judgments based on what we believe will be best for all children concerned.
Parents who wish to let us know of any concerns they have that could impact on their child’s learning and wellbeing in 2018 may do so by completing the Placement Information for 2018 form. Please note that parents cannot ask teachers to pass on information and that information provided previously will not be considered.
Go to the staff page on our website to see which Whānau teams our teachers will be teaching in next year.
