Bonjour à toutes nos familles

Teacher Only Day Tuesday 26 October (the day after Labour Day)

Just a reminder that school is closed on Tuesday. Some of you may be wondering about our Teacher Only Days...

As part of the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement, 8 Accord or Teacher Only Days were given to teachers to be used between 1 July 2019 - 30 June 2022.  This year we chose to schedule these days around long weekends (such as Labour Weekend) because some families use these opportunities to get out of Wellington. We indicated all of our Teacher Only days at the start of the year on our website and in our School Events Diary.

Teacher Only Days are held for the purpose of ongoing teacher training and professional learning and development. There are numerous areas that we have worked on this year, and you may like to take a look at the board section of our website which shows our focus areas, as these drive much of the professional learning that we have done on our Teacher Only Days.

Here is a link to the blog Kathryn published at the end of last year about our Teacher Only Days if you would like more information.

Catch ups at VBC - Friday mornings at 9.15

You can always catch Kathryn or I (or both if you’re lucky) at VBC on Friday mornings from 9.15 - 10am.  You are welcome to come and join us for a coffee and a chat on Fridays. We are also joined by Vincent Verhelst who is one of our French teachers.

Draft Organisation for 2022

Here is the draft organisation for next year. As we know we won’t be able to be in our new building at the start of the year, we have included the spaces that the teams will start in before we move into the new building around the middle of the term (fingers crossed).

Year 1-2: Julie Hanify, Laura Cherry, Dani Neale, Josie Carson (Tui space)

Year 3-4: Pam Clarke, Daniel Crow (Rooms 4 and 5)

Year 5-8: Derek Champion, Libby Hainsworth, Harriette Cowan (on the field)

Ruru: Nicolas Delaire, Julie Llorca (current Ruru space)

Fundraising coming up this term

This term we are planning on doing two lunches (burgers and a sausage sizzle) and selling ice-creams to raise money for camp in Term 1 next year.  Please let us know if you’re able to help us with our sausage sizzle or burgers.  Dates to be confirmed next week.

Feedback on our Lockdown Response - survey

The Board are keen to hear about your family’s experience of schooling during lockdown and whether the school could do things differently if there is another lockdown in the future.  This short anonymous survey has 5 questions and 3 places to add any comments you'd like to make.  We appreciate your feedback!
