Jump Jam filming sessions - Thursday 17 September

As we are unable to have our big performance of Jump Jam this year, the dances are going to be filmed instead and then submitted for judging. This is happening Thursday this week at Vogelmorn Hall. Our juniors will be filming from 10.30 and our seniors will be filming from 11.30.

If your child is in a team and you would like to come and watch, please let me know (sarah@ridgway.school.nz). Also, please be aware that we are unable to have more than 100 people in the hall at a time.

Our Ridgway Stars (Year 6 - 8s who have competed before) are filming tomorrow at school so won't be part of the Thursday filming session.

Anna has asked that all Jump Jammers wear black pants on Thursday for the filming.

Disco is postponed till next term!

As we are still in Level 2 we are unable to have our disco tomorrow night. Our seniors will be away at camp next week so we can't have it till Term 4, even if we move to level 1 next week. We will let you know the date next term.

STEM Week: 2 - 6 November (change of date)

We are moving this year's STEM Week to the fourth week of term 4. If you are able to help out with anything STEM related during this week please let me know. This could be supporting teachers in running activities or running something yourself. We know we have a big scientific community out there so do get in touch, even if you're not sure in what capacity you could be involved. We'd love to have you!

Fundraising success!

Our fundraising for camp was so successful that we are able to significantly reduce the cost of camp for everyone, plus cover the cost of camp for those unable to pay. Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts this term. If your child is going on camp, the updated remaining cost will be loaded onto your account tomorrow.

Brooklyn Junior Cricket Club

Have you thought about cricket for the summer months?

Brooklyn Junior Cricket Club has a fantastic, inclusive culture for boys and girls from age 5 up.

It's a great way for the kids to make friends and learn some skills. We have lots of whanau based in the central/southern suburbs, from Brooklyn to Island Bay.

Practices for junior teams are often held on Vogelmorn Park (adjoining Ridgway School), and modern formats have been designed so the kids are always doing something - games for younger grades take only an hour on Saturday morning.

Registrations are open now and fully online - go to http://www.bjcc.co.nz
