Basketball

Our Year 7 & 8 team is already up and running! We are still looking for players for our Year 3/4 and 5/6 teams. Year 3/4 play on Tuesday and Year 5/6 are on Wednesday (all at Ākau Tangi, the sports centre in Kilbirnie). If your child is keen to play, sign up here. 

Netball

The Year 5/6 and 7/8 netball season is coming up next term. Teams play on Saturdays at Evans Bay Intermediate in Kilbirnie. Please register interest using this form and, as always, we will be looking for parent help to coach and manage our teams. 

Volunteers for the fundraising committee

We are looking for a few more volunteers who would be able to help organise a proposed used quality clothing sale.  At this stage they are thinking Friday 7th June 5.30pm - 7.30pm + Saturday 8th June 12pm - 2pm (+ set up/clean time). If you would be able to help out on either of the days or help sort and organise clothing, drop Julie an email (juliel@ridgway.school.nz). 

Athletics next week

Athletics is next Thursday all day at Newtown Park! Children participate in all sorts of athletic events, like long jump, high jump and sprints. You’re welcome to come along and watch, and, in a stroke of genius, here is the timetable!  Please be aware the times are approximate, we sometimes end up running a bit ahead due to extreme efficiency.  It shouldn’t matter what time you come, your child will be active all day (except for the half hour lunch break). If you want to take your child home from Newtown Park instead of them coming back to school on the bus, find Raelene or Nicole to sign them out on the day. 

Office Assistant Job - reminder

We now have a vacancy for an Office Assistant, starting at the beginning of Term 2.  The hours will be 9 - 3 (but negotiable) in term time, so if you’re interested in working in our office (and who wouldn’t be?) check out our job description.
