He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles

Roadworks around school

Thank you for your patience with the very annoying road works.  The work was meant to have been done in the holidays but it would seem that sitting around in trucks takes longer than you’d expect!  Hopefully it will be finished by next week.

Farewell from Anneleah

Tēnā koutou

It is with big emotions I say ‘E noho rā’ -  ‘ Goodbye’.  I have been a part of the fabric of Ridgway School since 2009, in the biggest range of roles possible (parent, volunteer, teacher aide, returning officer, librarian, emergency management co-ordinator, office administrator...) and it has been a journey of a lifetime.  The most dynamic job in the world, with the benefit of forming incredible relationships with tamariki and you, their whānau, staff, regular and random visitors to the school.  However, it is time to get out of my comfort zone and jump back into the corporate world (the life before children).

My next adventure begins at VTNZ head office in the heart of our city – I will need to polish off my high heels and suit (yeah right!).  So my last day here at Ridgway is Friday 13 May, some call it a black Friday, we will need to rename it bawling Friday – there will be tears.  To celebrate my time here, we will gather at the local pub (1852) after school for anyone that wants to pop in to say ‘good riddance’ over a drink.

It has truly been a pleasure working at Ridgway, I will miss everyone (not the code browns, so happy to see the last of them - well until I become a grandparent that is).

With all of my heart, ngā mihi nui, thank you.

School Photo Day

Inspire Photography are coming to take our school photos on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd June. Here is a link to the information from Inspire. If there are siblings who don’t go to this school but want a photo with their siblings who are at school, they can come at 8.30am and have their photo taken with them then. We are just waiting for confirmation on which day they will be taking these.

New Logo

Work is underway on a new logo that will reflect both our English and our Te Reo Māori name.  Kathryn has written a blog post about the logo and you can see what it might look like. Feel free to get in touch with any feedback.

Show me the Money!

The school has received two grants to go towards our treetop walkway and playground on the bank. Our thanks go to the One Foundation for $6.000.00 and the BRC Charitable Trust for $2,500.00.  Also, a big thank you to our wonderful learning assistant Jess Wells for being the brains and brawn behind these grants. You’re the best, Jess!

Yummy Stickers

We are collecting Yummy Stickers so please get them off the apples and apple bags and then bring them in. We get sports equipment for them so they are worth collecting.
