Concrete Trucks next week

The first concrete for our new building will poured on Monday 12 April. 3 concrete trucks at a time will come and go between 7am and 2pm. They will drive up Mornington Road and enter the site via the gate opposite the Mornington Dairy, and leave the same way. If you are able to avoid travelling to school via Mornington Road on this day, please do so. If you have to park on Mornington Road to drop off your chid on this day, please don't attempt any U turns or cross the centre line to pass other cars who are parking.

Discovery Learning

We have now finished our first term of Discovery Learning and are working on the options for next term. This term there was drama, music videos, Wearable Arts, Bug Hotels, musical instruments, sports, children's book making and nuts and bolts (which was working with bikes). There were out of school trips, performances and loads of other exciting learning going on. Big thanks to all the parents who came in and supported us with our first ever Discovery Learning!

Bake Sale - tomorrow Thursday 8 April

Just a reminder that there is a bake sale at school tomorrow. This is happening at lunchtime. Prices range from 50c to $3.

Movin' March

Movin' March is now over! Passports are being collected and we will do the prize draws this week. It was great to see so many children moving their way to school!

Learning Conferences

We are holding these next term in the second week (10 - 13 May). The booking link will be sent out next week.

PB4L reward - Pet Show - Wednesday 14 April 9 - 11am

Every term we have a whole school reward for all the R Cards the children have collected over the term. The reward with the most 'votes' this term is the Pet Show. All the information you need can be seen here. If you don't have any pets or don't have pets you want brought into school, your child can bring in a fluffy toy that will go on display. Please do read the information on the Pet Show document if you do intend on bringing a pet, as it tells you where to take the pet and how the morning will run. Please be aware that all pets will need to be taken home at 11.

School Staffing Review

There is currently a review underway that has been commissioned by the education union (NZEI Te Riu Roa), in response to concerns raised by its members over staffing in primary schools. The reviewers will actively engage with a wide range of individuals and organisations, asking opinions about the extent to which current staffing is fit for purpose, and how we can ensure we have the staffing needed for all tamariki to reach their potential. You can have your say about school staffing levels by making an individual submission - which need only take a short time, via this weblink. https://www.puaotanga.org.nz/

End of term

Just a reminder that the last day of term is Friday April 16.
