He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - warm greetings to all.
Here we are, back at Level 2. While we wait for guidance from the Ministry, we will roll with our protocols from the last time we were at Level 2. We will update you once we have further information.
Classroom sanitising and contact tracing
There will be sanitiser at the door of each entrance into a school building. Your child will need to sanitise their hands before they enter a building. If at all possible, we ask that parents and caregivers do not come inside. When this is necessary, please sign in on the clipboard at the entrance to the room (in case contact tracing is necessary). You will also need to sanitise your hands. In most cases teachers are available to speak with you outside at a 2m distance.
Lunch orders
These will go ahead as planned. We will use gloves to prepare any food and be extra vigilant about hygiene.
Sickness
If your child is sick, please keep them away from school.
Staggered Starts & Finish - not at this stage
Although we did this throughout Level 2, at this stage we won't be moving to staggered starts. In order to support this, we need to ask people to leave the school grounds quickly at pick up and drop off times.
Postponement of Premier Event
Restrictions on gathering sizes in Level 2 mean that we have to postpone this event. We will reschedule when we can!
Swimming at Level 2
These lessons are still going ahead. Children are to sanitise their hands on their way into the building and any adults attending are asked to use the QR code for contact tracing.
The office is closed
Please contact the office staff through phone (939 8771) or by email (office@ridgway.school.nz) to get in touch with them. Our eftpos machine is not contactless so if you do need to pay for anything, please use internet banking ASB 12 3141 0104464 00.
