He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles
Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori
What a fabulous week we have had celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori! Hopefully your child has been telling you about all the learning they have been doing this week. Our hīkoi this morning was great and it was so lovely to see all the whānau who turned out to celebrate with us. We’ll have a photo gallery ready for your perusal next week…but in the meantime, check out these two rockstars! Thanks to the parents who have shared their photos from the hīkoi.
School open from 8.30
Just a friendly(ish) reminder that there is no supervision available for children before 8.30. Please help us by making sure your child arrives after 8.30.
Year 5/6 Basketball final - this coming Monday!
We are very excited that our Year 5/6 basketball team (Ridgway Hawkes) is in the final. The Ridgway Hawkes beat the QMC Lakers in the semi-final on Monday 40 - 33. It was an amazing effort! We are very proud of them all.
Their final is on Monday 19 Sept at 5pm on Court 6 at ASB Sports Arena in Kilbirnie. We’d love your support!

Futsal tournaments this week
We sent a couple of teams to ASB Sports Centre this week for futsal tournaments. A really fun day for the tamariki and a massive thank you to the wonderful parent helpers!
Fundraising lunches
We made 102 cheese toasties yesterday. Next week it’s a sausage sizzle and then the last week of term we have the delicious fried rice again! Thanks for your support with this fundraising.
Photos ready for ordering
Remember to order your photos! Fundraising for this will end at midnight Tuesday 20th September. The school does not receive any fundraising donations after the main ordering period finishes. You were emailed the link last week so have a look back in your emails to find it.
Community Notices
The Brooklyn Community Market is on tomorrow morning and the lovely Isaac has a stall there. Go and check it out!
Meet the Southern Ward Candidates evening on Wednesday 21st September, 7pm at 1852.
Q + A format, followed by a candidate meet and mingle. We will be working to a 1 minute timeframe for candidate introduction and answers. It’s all a bit of fun and putting faces to names for the voters – questions will be screened as best as possible with the aim to keep focus on local ward questions.
Upcoming Events
20 September: Year 6 - 8 Girls’ First Aid Course
26 September: Queen’s Memorial Day - school closed
30 September: Last day of term
Ngā mihi,
