Where we are
As the name suggests, Te Kura o Tawatawa - Ridgway School is located on a ridge 1km south of the suburb of Brooklyn and 4km south of the Wellington CBD. Being on a ridge means we have a fantastic view of the bush-clad western hills and the Brooklyn wind turbine. It also means we get plenty of sunshine and Wellington’s refreshing wind!
The school is on the number 7 bus route and is handy to the Brooklyn shops and library, the Penthouse Cinema and several restaurants. It’s also only a short drive to the wild south coast beaches of Owhiro Bay, Island Bay and Princess Bay, or to the Brooklyn wind turbine, New Zealand’s first operational wind turbine.

Visit Metlink for bus information such as maps, fares and timetables. Buses stop right outside the school. The #7 bus route is from the CBD to Kingston; the #21 bus route links the school with the nearby suburbs of Vogeltown and Berhampore, and the #29 route runs between the Ridgeway and Island Bay.
