How are devices kept secure when not in use? How are devices looked after at school?
Student devices are kept in classroom cupboards when students do not need them. These cupboards are locked when the class goes out.
RESPONSIBILITY / TAKOHANGA is one of our 4 key values at Ridgway School. Teaching children to be responsible in all things is something that teachers do continually throughout the year, both in formal lessons and as the moment requires.
Teachers and parents have a role to play in teaching tamariki how to look after their belongings, and in teaching tamariki to take responsibility for their own device. Teachers and students will establish shared expectations for looking after devices (both school and personal) while at school and we expect students to follow our guidelines.
