Planning for Level 3

Like all of you, we have watched Auckland move quickly into level 3 lockdown and it has prompted us to review our own planning in the event of a rapid escalation. This document reflects the plans in place for moving to Level 3.

You will remember that under Level 3 school is closed for all but the children of essential workers. Please contact me if you are an essential worker and you intend to send your child to school during Level 3. sarah@ridgway.school.nz

If we move into Level 3:

  • Teachers will take the first school day at Level 3 to prepare for home learning

  • Teachers will be in touch the following school day with weekly timetables for online and at home learning and will be coordinating regular video conferencing for your children

  • Children will have their books, headphones, pencil cases etc in tidy piles ready to be collected. We will send out a google form to book in a time to come into school to collect these if we move to Level 3.

  • You are able to borrow a chrome book (Year 4 - 8) or an ipad (Year 1 - 3) if your child/ren need one. Please fill out this form to do so.

If your child is in Year 1 - 3 please provide an email address for them to use for video conferencing and receiving emails if it is different than the one you currently use for receiving school communication. If you don't have one they can use (for example if you only have a work email address), perhaps set up a family gmail account for this purpose.

We recognise that going into a second round of lockdown is tough on everyone but we have done it before, and we can do it again if we have to. We are here to support our children and their whānau in any way we can. Please feel free to get in touch.

Ngā mihi
