This week’s newsletter is just to remind you about important things coming up.

Languages Strategy Consultation

You are invited to have your say about our new languages strategy  on Wednesday this week at school.  You may also like to complete the Languages Strategy online survey.

Languages Consultation evening:  Wednesday 13 June; 7 - 8pm; Big Space

*Please note that we will be discussing all aspects of the Languages Strategy not just the French bilingual class.  (I apologise for making this unclear in last week’s newsletter.)

City Gallery Visits

You have been sent information about when your child will be visiting the City Gallery.  If you are able to help, please complete the online forms as soon as possible.

This trip is completely free due to the generosity of the Tawa Arts and Crafts Association who gave us a sizable donation last year.  Special thanks to Nick and Christopher’s grandmother who was a member of this group.

If you have any difficulty with making your booking you can contact Raelene or Anneleah in our office for help.  If you need to make a time outside of those times offered, please email your child’s homegroup teacher as soon as possible.

Paid Union Meeting - Tuesday 19 June

NZEI members from Ridgway School will be attending a Paid Union Meeting on Tuesday 19 June. We will not be closing the school, and will provide supervision for children in the afternoon. If you wish to collect your child early on that day we would be very grateful. Please note that this is also one of our Learning Conference days. Teachers will be back at school from 4.00pm to host conferences.

Children can be collected from the start of lunch at 12.40pm. If you decide to collect your child early please sign your child out in the usual way at the office. If you wish your child to be collected by someone else, please notify the office by email, office@ridgway.school.nz.

Buildings Update

Various trades people will be in the school over the next few weeks doing small jobs and carrying out inspections to provide more detailed information about further work that needs to be done.

Brooklyn Market

Book Stall

Sat 23 June; 2 - 5pm

Anneleah Thornburrow will be at the Brooklyn Market selling surplus books from the library (these include books that have not been issued over the past 2 years) on Saturday June 23 between 2pm and 5pm.  The profit made from these sales will be used to buy new books for our library. If you have books at home that you’d like to donate for sale, drop them in to Anneleah at the school office. Remember to go to the Brooklyn Market for some great book deals too!
