Coding club mash up
At school we have had a trip to pipitea marae
To join the coding club mash up program, the mash up consisted of several activities spread out through the day. We did 3D printing, we designed our objects on a computer and then printed them out via a printer nearby. Robotics was the second activity, we built a sumo-bot and tested them out in a rink and versed opponents.
There were many more activities, but the main program was a problem solving time.
We divided into groups and thought about a problem, such as climate change, littering and animal abuse. We then designed a piece of technology that could help solve our problems.
Afterwards some judges decided which ideas should go to the final.
In the end one of our school teams came second and won $250 worth of robotics kits for our school.
We are proud of our effort and grateful that we could go thanks to parent help.
